As I’m sure many of you have noticed – me and Thomas Moen was at the FOWA this past weekend, and it was a truly inspiring conference to attend.

One of the most genuine and authentic persons I have ever met, was the one and only Gary Vaynerchuk. I was under the impression that he was only energetic when on stage – but this guy is like this all the time. He is passionate about what he is doing and he knows his stuff.

During his 12 minute long speak at the conference – before he and Kevin Rose had their Q&A session, he talked about something that I am also passionate about. The thing is – so many companies are taking to lightly on the power of social media, with the opportunity to actually engage with your customer one-on-one. As Gary so eloquently put it “Customer service is not putting a small f*cking tab in the middle of the side of you page asking for feedback… / … Customer Service is about putting in hours, listening, answering, CARE about your customers”

Take a look at the clip, and you’ll see what I mean:

The thing is – a lot of the big brands are ignoring the fact that there are tools out there that makes them engage with their customers in a more authentic way, and which I believe in the long run will be more cost efficient and give good ROI. But – this is where we see the difference in the leading companies and the managing companies.

the leading companies understand that they have to be in front of what is expected of them and lead their tribe of customers into this new era of communication.

The managing companies are the ones that are afraid of change and that is waiting to see if there is anyone that can show years of results proving that this actually works, or that just puts up a facebook page and a twitter account thinking that ‘that will do the trick – we’re active on social media’

Marketing is Queen, Content is King, and engaging with your customers, by listening to them, answering them and showing them you actually CARE is the future.

Kevin Rose confirms digg iPhone app

by arnteriksen on October 4, 2009

Me and my friend Thomas Moen where attending FOWA London this week and had The pleasure of interviewing both Gary Vaynerchuck and Kevin Rose for our weekly tech videopodcast Sofaprat.

Before The interview with Kevin we managed to get a sneak peak of the new digg iPhone app – which nobody is supposed to know about ;)

During the interview we asked Kevin about the app, which then (a bit suprised) confirmed that it exists.

The app looks pretty sweet and we’re really looking forward to play with it when it launches sometime soon.

See video below.
