ToppictureStaci

She is one lady who greets me and a lot of her followers everyday on Twitter and on Facebook.  You don’t want to miss her tweets as she always shouts out positivity.  Always encouraging everyone to be more engaging, to connect and be an inspiration to others.

Her name is Staci J. Shelton,  or @StaciJShelton. She is a speaker. A relationship builder. A communications strategist. A coach.  Staci’s  passion is helping people, organizations and businesses ENGAGE, INSPIRE, INFLUENCE AND INTERACT EFFECTIVELY.

In Short…Staci teaches Corporations, Organizations, Businesses and Leaders to make their brand, presence and message IRRESISTIBLE!

But maybe just like me, you are also wondering where does she get her energy, what inspires her? Here are some things that I thought would help us understand and know her more personally.

1.  What is your favorite book and why?

My Favorite book of all time is a book called The Talisman, by Stephen King and Peter Straub.  It’s about a little boy who flips between parallel worlds.  In it he realizes that he is stronger, smarter and more capable than he ever dreamed and that help always comes.  It’s a beautiful story about magical possibilities.

2.  What or who  inspires you?

Creativity and creative people have always inspired me.  I love art and music and surround myself with them or the people who create them.  That and Nature.  I’m in awe of all of Creation. The imagination and creativity that went into every tree, flower, blade grass, insect, animal and human being moves me.

3.  Your favorite quiet place

Believe it or not, at my kitchen table with a cup of coffee early in the morning when the house is quiet.  Just me, God and my questions and thoughts.  It’s my favorite time of day.

4.  And who was the first person you followed on twitter.

@nicholaspatten an amazing Designer in NYC.  He was one of the first people I reached out to on Facebook that I didn’t know personally and I loved him and his work so much that when I came to Twitter, it made perfect sense!

Relationship building is the key message here.  It might seem like a big task.  It involves constant dialogue and sensitivity to other people’s needs and wants.  It may be hard to achieve overnight but not impossible if given much importance and priority.

Twitter may be viewed as a good social medium to establish relationships in business but more importantly to harness friendships and long lasting camaraderie.

That’s it for this week’s Up Close and Personal – tune in again for the next edition.
