Remember Why You Started
“Always start at the end before you begin.”
– Robert Kiyosaki
This might seem to be an odd statement, but in reality, it is the key to success. There are many ways to interpret this one, of course — but I choose to see it from the following perspective:
If you can visualise the end goal, the thing you want to achieve — your deepest desire, be it in business, life in general or even a relationship — if you can envision what success or best-case scenario looks like, then you work backwards; you reverse engineer the path all the way to your current status quo.
It is a very challenging, but rewarding exercise, because by making that mental imprint of what you want, then you can define the objectives needed on the path to your goal. And, as you know where you are, then you can implement the strategy into actions, and move with velocity.
I find this process to work on the smallest of projects, to the big yearly ambition goals I always set for myself at years end. It gives me clarity, it gives me motivation because I have a game plan and I have a crystal clear image in my mind of where I want to be, and how I will get there.
